Treefrog is a leading startup support organization and incubator in Canada. As a key component of Canada’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, it empowers startups to transform their ideas into reality and scale. MindXR’s base idea was pitched to Treefrog in March 2023 and accepted into the April 2023 cohort.
As the founder of MindXR, despite having over a decade of executive experience in my own company and cultural institution in Iran, being a recognized and influential figure in Iran’s game development industry and ICVFX, and participating in numerous management and business courses in Iran, I consider the Treefrog cohort to be the most comprehensive and robust educational experience I’ve had.
I’ve never encountered such a concentrated volume of diverse and useful content. I’ve gained and improved knowledge in a wide range of subjects, including production standards, product design, business regulation, copyright, pitch deck creation, grant acquisition, and investment. The opportunity to learn from successful entrepreneurs in Canada and the US, such as Sean Stephens, James Daigle, Laurie Baker, and Sisi Gong, and to build friendships with some of them has been invaluable.
Treefrog has greatly expanded my perspective and deepened my understanding of the North American market and its associations. During the cohort, I also had the chance to connect with fellow Iranian entrepreneurs, forming a strong network where we offer each other mutual support and guidance. As an Iranian, I can attest to the common challenges we face due to our country’s political situation, which are often not understood by our non-Iranian peers. Collaborating to find solutions and sharing our experiences with one another to find solutions to those challenges has been incredibly heartwarming.
Throughout the cohort, I presented several iterations of the MindXR pitch deck. Ultimately, version 5 of the pitch deck won first place in the competition among 30 international and local Canadian startups, securing a CAD 5,000 marketing package. This award connected me with Blair Minnes, an outstanding brand strategist. Together, we developed a document outlining MindXR’s brand voice and future strategies.
